OK Guys I am stumped. No settings have been changed on the mail server, everything was working up until our internet went down this morning. Everything was brought back up on a backup T1, but with new IP addresses on the router only (private internal IPs, mail server has 10.22.100.4). I am now getting the following error when trying to send from my gmail account to my corporate email.

Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 5.7.1 We do not relay name@testdomain.com (state 14).

I have no idea what the heck is going on.

Where does your MX record point? The old T1 line? Is there a backup MX record pointing to the backup T1?

Can you telnet from the outside to your Exchange server over port 25?

MX record points to the new IP address.

Telnet works from outside.

How many MX records are there? Your original points to the original T1, and the second points to your backup T1, right?

Those records are cached for the duration of their respective TTL. So changes take time to kick in.

If you run the bottom test on what does it say?

Have you tried running on your domain name and then testing the SMTP from there?

If your exchange server says it doesn't relay then are you actually sending to the internal address as set in the HT section of Exchange 2010 domain?
