Hi,
Our PC uses windows 2000 and its been running fine- til now! I just put a DVD in the drive and almost the second the drive tray closed and W2K stated to read the disk, it rebooted and I can't boot the PC at all now- even in safe mode! it just flashes up this blue screen for a few milliseconds (I can't read it) after the 'windows 2000' screen and reboots again! Please help me someone, I'm in deep trouble here. Its the first time I used a DVD on the computer, but I'm sure the rest of my family have used the drive for watching DVDs in the past. Any help would be very much appreciated

Boot off your Win2k CD. When it comes to the menu take the R option (Repair) and follow the prompts.

If that still doesn't work use the Recovery Console. You can get into the Recovery Console via the repair (as above). When in the Recovery Console use the FIXBOOT command to repair the boot files (its like doing a SYS command for Win9x). Also rename the AUTOEXEC.NT file while in the Recovery Console, just in case something has been added to it.

New Zealand, a great place to live.
