I have a security alarm classed as Major. But I don't know where to check this alarm or clear it out.

Please can anyone point me in the right direction.

Description of Security Alarm:-

An unauthorized attempt to access the system through port 23 or a DISA trunk has been made. Port 23 is reserved for OPS Manager access. An alarm results when a user tries to login through OPS Manager using the wrong username and/or password.

Note: If a user fails to log in from the System Administration Tool after three consecutive attempts, the event is recorded in the maintenance log and the user is locked out of the system for 15 minutes. No Security Alarm is raised.

I had this previosuly, as far as I remeber I changed the "root" password, dbms save and reconfigured the remote accessmethod to be moe secure -the 3300 was internet facing we locked it down so only access from our external IP was granted - since doing the above we have had no further problems / occurances of the alarm

I had this as well with an unsuccessful External Hot Desk Login.
the only way to clear it for now, is to configure DISA (if you do not have it configured) and complete a successful DISA log in.
this is to be addressed in a future release

What type of system is this on? If its an SX-2000 could be because the default username and password has not been changed.

We had this and called Mitel. You have to either reboot or change the threshold.

Its a 3300 MXe, only had the issue since I upgraded from V9 to the latest MCD build.

Sounds like the PASSWORD SECURITY. If you haven't or don't wish to change the default USERNAMES and PASSWORDS go into MAINTENANCE and type "SET THRES SECURITY NIL NIL NIL. That should clear it up.

NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED!
