I must admit that I have no knowledge of Maitre D', but if the database files are .dbf files, you could always use Excel to open them. I would make a backup of the menu item .dbf and use that instead of opening up the item file. Just a thought, or if you have Crystal Reports you could try and connect to the database and then export to excel out of crystal.
