Good Morning,
I have a option 61C and could someone please tell me the load and how to go about running a maintenance routine. It does not run every night. My goal is to run the test to tell me if I have some TN's out there with out a 2616 attach to it. And if you think there is another maintenance routine I should run could you please let me know and the correct procedure on the prompts.

Thank you in advance and Thank you to everyone out there that send and answers questions I use it as a learning tool.

Hi,

to start the midnight routine go into LD 135 and type MIDN exit the overlay and when Multi User is enabled the midnight route should start. If it doesn;t logout.

To see which overlays are started during the midnight route go into LD 22 and type: PRT - OVLY . At the DROL prompt you will see the overlays.

To change the overlays go into LD 17 and change the OVLY.

To see if there are sets connected to a TN overlay 30 must be added to the DROL. You could do all the loops manually but a MIDN is faster.

Thank you for the information. Here is what I got in LD 22
TYPE ovly
SID 30
BKGD 044
PBXH X
TODR 00
DROL 034 036 037 038 043 060 135 137
MULTI_USER ON

Is the correct things running at midnight? Can I run LD 30 now or should I wait until tomorrow morning when there is not a lot of users? If I run now could I take the chance of cutting someone off.

You should add 30 and 44 to the DROL.

You can run the midn at any time. Users will not be cut-off.

But you might get some errors because some options could not be tested during the day because they might be in use (RAN routes i.e.).

The best thing to do is to add the overlays and look in the hist. file tomorrow

i put 43 in mine, i know it runs at midnight if you made a change, but i would hate to lose a few hundred changes. DO look at your hst files ever day. 44 runs in background so i don't add it, some do, it's free. might not be a bad idea to go to ld 135 midn.. then log off. that runs midnights as soon as you get out of the load. it can't hurt to watch it from start to finish.. you can stop it with a halt command, and it will resume with an unhalt.. (i just like typing unhalt, because it's a funny word)
