SQL Server 7.0
NT 4.0 SP4
PROBLEM:
While attempting to cleanup some of the old obsolete databases we took the old / obsolete databases off-line (these were part of an existing maintenance plan) we then created a couple of new maintenance plans to test running a full/complete backup of databases that we do need to backup so for testing we added only two databases to the new maintenance plan yet the maintenance plan never gets past Step 1 (the transact-sql step). We are running everything as the 'sa' user. The Windows Application log via Event Viewer has event id 208 with a description "SQL Server Scheduled Job 'DB Backup Job for DB Maintenance Plan "Test Backup Plan" (0x1FE65EE83E5F5D411BF500002A5070CDB)- Status: Failed - Invoked on: 1/2/07 3:16:34 PM - Message: The job failed. The Job was invoked by User sa. The last step to run was step 1 {Step 1}."
We are just trying to get a "good" clean FULL simple backup of our databases. We will try a reboot of the server to see if perhaps the problem is that the server is too busy. We have verified that we do have plenty of disk space for the backup jobs.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
