New to NEC. Have NEAX 2000 IPS. Need to find out some useful daily maintenance commands to monitor PRI status, calls, etc remotely. Thanks for your help.

There is an option to have the system send alarms to an external device, or to SNMP if you are connected to a network.

But it won't let you monitor calls or even how many channels are currently in use. Only if there is a problem!

As Ozzie said, nothing to monitor ISDN service, but you do have a few commands

EA0 DE 00 - will list all alarms that the system shows and a description. This is where you can look to see if your digital lines (ISDN) had outages or errors. Any other issue the system has you can see it here also.

Command
- EA1 DE 00 - Clear all MJ/MN alarms
- EA1 DE 01 - Clear MJ alarms
- EA1 DE 02 - Clear MN alarms

You should get a copy of the command manual and look at command EA and see all the other stuff there is for Mainteance and Alarm information. Their are several in the EA command. I just mentioned EA0 and EA1.

All that said, if you know anything about macros in for example excel then it is posible to write a macro to log on to the system and keep doing a trace on each trunk which will give you instantaneous connection details (which station each is connected to)!
