I'm reconfiguring our maintenance plans. Based on research it seems best to not use the wizard or use the wizard then modify the job to incl. options not available using the wizard.
1. If I use the wizard, can I delete the plan created under "MANAGEMENT" in Enterprise Manager without deleteing the job?
I am going to have 4 jobs. THe first is optimization running at 11pm. The second is system database backups at 12 and the third is production datbase backups at 1am. The fourth job will be an hourly backup of the trx logs.
2. I believe it was suggested to add the -CkDB and the -BkUpOnlyIfClean option to the database backups. Any thoughts?
3. Should -UpdSts be added to the optimization job?
Comments and suggestions greatly appreciated.
