The serial connection gives me Username:? Domain:? and Password:?

Why are you using serial connection? That's not how you load patches.

There the same as the normal user name and password, don't use Domain.

I was in the middle of a patch and the sys locked up... I'm just looking for anyway into this box... I know how you load patches...... it locked up and froze i re-booted... i waited....... i rebootedi waited..... i rebooted i hooked up a monitor... i chose maint os.... then iget the console.... this area requires a Nortel ITAS name domain and password ..... that's what i'm looking for..

Check your caps. BFT may have gone during the patch. Seen it happen before.

I didn't think of that and I should have. Pull thr BFT out far enough to see if the Cap are green or Blue, if there Blue you have another problem, if there green then you need a new BFT.

S'ok, ace. You've typed about the BFT issue so many times, you're probably looking for any OTHER reason to type about.

:)

Yeah I've had to change a bunch of BFT's unfortunately this one wasn't acting up until is crashed in the middle of a patch. I replaced the BFT but that's when the no services problems showed up its no doubt because the patch got halfway through and crashed. I ended up replacing the drive with another 3.7 harddrive and it booted right up.... we'll just have to re-image the drive and throw it back in stock..... I was hoping that there was a way to recover the VM by using the Maint OS logins or at least be able to go back and switch to the inactive partition to save the customer data. But I guess a couple hundred bucks to put a new drive in makes more money sense then the time it would take to fix the crashed OS.... I hate being a part changer... takes the tech right out of technition.
