Maintaining the video look

I am a newbie with AFX. Just wondering why rendered movies lose that crisp video look. I haven't messed with any of the program options/preferences. Though I LIKE the "film-like" look, clients often want to maintain th crisp lok of video. What do I need to do?
(I am using 6. I typically export the file as a Microsoft DV Avi.)

You might need to check your input resolution for the clip when you import it to after effects. The compression you used when rendering could also be set to low quality. hope that helps
