I have 2 PCs, one in NYC and the other in CT. Each has cable, but from two separate ISPs. The CT computer runs Outlook 2000 and Win98; the NYC PC is running Outlook 2002 and XP Home .

All told, I have 4 separate e-mail accounts (two from my web site). I set up all four e-mail accounts in Outlook on each PC, and the testing confirmed that all were configured properly. On the NYC PC, I set up my address book, also, comprising about 400 contacts.

I want to share the address book (without having to restroke it into the CT PC) between both as well as see all new and opened mail to all accounts on both computers. Please advise.

Thanks.

2 options:

1: Use IMAP on both PC's if the ISP permits it.
2: In case of POP3, the 2 Outlook settings must have the setting on 'Leave copy on server', but you will need to clean house from time to time.

Only with IMAP will you be able to see read and unread mails.

Sharing the address book is simple, export it in one and mail the epxort file to yourself. Pick it up in the other city.

You could also set up a VPN and use only one Outlook setup. This is only reasonable if you are in one location most of the time. On the other hand, it makes it possible to get your mail anytime from anywhere.

When I am on the road, I use to check email and make sure that my main Outlook is either off or set to leave mail on the server.
