Hello,

Im not very experienced jcripter, and was wondering if it is possible to do this type of main menu mouseover rolling effect with jscript instead of flash? Would be really helpful.

It is sort of moving two rows of text in and out of a mask, and creating an illusion of rolling. Also so that when an HTML page selected, the right menuitem stays highlighted..thanks for all answers!

It should be very possible to do this in JS, but it might be quite hard to explain how to do it if you're new to JS.

However, before attempting to undertake this, think whether it's right for your web page. Some effects and whizzy graphical bits are great concepts, but look very out of place on certain websites (and could well annoy some power users).

Hope this helps,
Dan

Also, don't forget that not everyone has JavaScript enabled in their browser. So if you do make this menu, make sure there are some plain old hyperlinks available as well.
