We have a Merlin Magix 4.0 with an 800 number and local DID that is currently routing to the company operator how can I point that number to route to the auto attendant instead?

Thanks in advance!

Change the Operator's extension number, create an adjunct with the Operator's old number, cover it to voice mail, and create a mailbox that points to the auto attendant.

or

Change the Operator's extension number, renumber the Voice Mail calling group to the DID number.

or

If it is a PRI, use the routing tales to route the DID to the Voice Mail calling group.

The DID it is currently pointing to DID 1600, the operators ext is 100 and the auto attendant is 5600.

Do I change the operators 100 ext. to any another ext. and renumber the Voice Mail calling group to the 1600?

The easist way to do this (on a PRI) is to create or modify an entry in the Dial Plan Routing table. So the question is begged, is this a PRI?

If this is a straight T1, you can simply put in a request to the carrier to send the digits "5600" instead of "100".

What if his console is a QCC? Renumbering the console will not help. The question is...Does the 800 number come in as a ready line (dials) to the DID 1600 or on a T-1? Who controls night service? Is 5600 the calling group for the vms? Are the DID's coming in DID modules, Tie Lines on regular T-1 or on the D-Channel of a PRI T-1? You can't advise him without more info without causing him some problems. lg

Post a print of your Dial Plan so we can all see what you have to work with!

We had the LEC pass digits 5600 and it now works.
