My main machine is old and slow (512mb RAM) and it will not render a DVD quality mpeg (~3 gigs). My laptop has 1 gig of ram, so I thought I would try to get the video to render in it.
I networked the folder and opened up the current project in Premiere. Everyhting worked fine, except the songs would not work at all. They didn't say that they were offline, it is just that nothing would happen when you played the timeline. The normal audio from the clip would work, but the songs would't. What is going on here?

thanks

What is the difference between a clip and a song in this context?

More info needed !

nothing, thats why I couldn't figure out why in the world it was doing that. It fixed itself when I went to render. Now I have another problem... what does it mean when you get an effor message during a render saying: Adobe Premiere could not return a frame. Or something along those lines that in essence stopped the render. I am getting extremely frustrated now that both machines are not working for some reason that I cannot understand. Thanks for any help

yes, that is exactly what it was doing. I should have tried the Adobe site first, I just got so frustrated and the last problem I had was not on the Adobe site. Thanks again.
