Hello everyone and Happy Friday!!

I have a main form, Time Cards, and a subform, Time Card Hours (multi-row). The linked fields are TimeCardID and EmployeeID. Everytime I close the form though, the EmployeeID link disappears! Only the TimeCardID link is still there. Has anyone experienced this before?? I am perplexed.

I am set up with a front end linked to the backend - pretty typical. There is a second sub-form on the Time Card - but I don't think that's the offending item.

Thank you for your time!

Are you using the 'template' supplied by MS for the timecard database? I ask because the fieldnames are familiar, I looked at that and I can tell you that it is more complex than need be for the job it intends to do and is rife with 'questionable' structure and coding...but I digress.

Anyway, check the textbox control's Name and ControlSource in the properties. The Wizard usually names them the same, (which I dis-recommend) but if it's been changed, then this can cause the link to dissappear.

Thanks Jim - no I'm not using the template - I'm pretty much a "do-it-yourselfer". : )
