My Nvidia tnt2 model 64 agp and Gigabyte ga-5ax motherboard apparently have issues with each other. When trying to upgrade to XP pro, the upgrade advisor says I have this blocking issue. It wont let me go any further. I have searched and searched for answer, but alas, my quest for answers have yielded non. If any one could help me out with this issue it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If I take a peek in your Windows, to fix a problem, does that make me a "Peeping Tom"? Hmmmmmmmmmmv [pc1][shocked]

Gigabyte GA-5AX Socket 7 motherboard for Intel MMX /AMD K6/Cirix, I've tried to find any reference to incompatibility with the TNT2 and can't.
As these two bits of hardware come from nearly the same era, and the TNT would have been the most popular graphics choice (together with the Voodoo 3) I dought that there would have been any major conflicts between the two.
What is the general specification of the machine, it's just that I personally wouldn't recommend installing XP on anything less than a 500mhz machine with 256mb ram.
XP is just so resource hungry that anything less will run patheticly slow.
If you still go ahead then clean install don't upgrade and download the latest mainboard drivers, below is the link.

Sometimes you can chunk an old ati rage pro in and install, then after its all updated and raring to go, remove the rage pro and install the other card, probably will work fine...just make sure the xp config is all "patched" up, DX9 is installed, etc....
And with the older boards,as paparazi said, flash the bios first...shouldnt even have to install drivers, and if you do, probably be best to get those from windows update.
And by the way, I have two pentium II 300 mhz running XP, but without the eyecandy, and with some serious tweaking....they are ok for the wife and kid....no serious gaming going on though.....maybe RED BARON....lol...

I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.
