MAILBOX STORE & PUBLIC FOLDER STORES WONT MOUNT!

After a failed arcserve backup and using a struggling server whose resources are at the limit with small bussiness server 2000 installed the Exchange services are all running when you look in "services" but the Mailbox store and Public Folder Store are not mounte and will not moount. Please help,I think the database has got corrupted and a back up is going to be the only cure???? Has anyone experienced this before?

Take a look in your application log and you should see some entries that might help explain what's going on.

 
Problem was a vital transaction file had been infected by Netsky and the anti virus was incorrectly configured to scan the M drive, it deleted the file and caused the Exchange database to fail to back up and dismount themselves.

I have the same problem, but now my question is, how do you fix it??? Thanks!
 
Firstly set your Norton to NOT scan the mdbdata folder or the M drive.

Then you'll need to eseutil /p
Then isinteg -fix -test alltests

Then it will mount.

But it is faster to restore from backup to dial tone stores.
