Mailbox Store in Echange 2003

We are running exchange server 2003 enterprise edition. Previous IT folks setup an archive mailbox store, this store has no mailboxes attached to it and is not being used, my question is can we just delete the Archive Mailbox Store without affecting the rest of the stores?

If there are absolutely no mailboxes on it, then you *should* be safe in deleting it.

can i delete the store without dis-mounting it or do i need to first delete the database first and then the store, please advise

dismount, then delete the database.
