Hello all,

What is the best way to pull a report on all users mailbox size across multiple storage groups on exchange 2003? Is there a free third party app?

Thank you.

hi sniper I did search but nothing that reports on multiple storage groups and that is free. I spent about 45 minutes looking around and also searched old posts on tek-tips.

Search for Glen Scales. He wrote an Access database to produce reports on mailbox sizes that keeps track of them each day and produces reports on size and history.

It is awesome, last seen it was freely downloadable and a lot of people have a lot to thank him for.

2nded on Glen Scales scripts.

Fantastic as long as your server doesn't have too many mailboxes then it gets a bit unwieldy due to the limitations within Access.

One thing to note is that if you have mailboxes >4GB it will give -ve values for the mailbox size. I asked him about it and he gave me the changes to take >4GB into account but I don't have them handy and not sure if he posted them in the blog.

Chances are that if you have several thousand users, you'll be able to afford an app that costs money...

Thanks everyone. I ended up writing my own script. I had to run on each server. we are moving to 2007 now.

Sometimes trying to get useful apps like Promodag or MessageStats past the bean counters is impossible even when they are relatively cheap.
