A client has recently installed an Avaya Office IP403 system and is experiencing a couple of minor annoyances.

Firsly, I have configured the main company number to call a hunt group containing one user which overflows into a second containing several others. On this hunt group I have set up a time profile and voicemail for out of hours. This all appears to work, but I am not able to collect the messages from the mailbox. I have added a shortcode (*80 "?anonymous" voicemailcollect) but when I attempt to get the voicemail a message tells me the mailbox has 'not been configured for remote access'.
I looked through the settings and I cant find anything that seems to suggest allowing remote access to the mailbox.
I have tried getting the voicemail from a phone which is a memeber of the hunt group, and also one which is not, just to see if that makes any difference.
Can anyone help me to get this working?

The second problem may be related to the first. I have set up a PIN code on all the users mailboxes but when dialing *17 from the phone there is no prompt, it just tells you if you have a message or not. I have tried changing the PIN codes and restarting the system, but it doesnt seem to make any difference.

1 your usewres do not require a passcode because they have the setting V<extn> in there Source numbers field ( this specifies the extn as a secure location for the mailbox)

To access a Mailbox from a non-secure location requirews a VM code.

in your example do the following

1) add a VM code to the Group Mailbox
2) Add H<GroupName> to the source numbers field of each group member.

this will allow remote access to the group mailbox (*80 as you have things) * light the MSG lamp of group members when there is a group msg.

for further info on the charactes that can be used in source numbers check the manager help files, they are actualy quite usefull.

IP Office will automaticaly deliver VM to secure locations.
By default each extn is configured as a secure location for its own mailbox
User/SourceNumbers V<extn>, H<group

to access a VM from a nun secure location (for example using you *80 shortcode) required a VM code to be set.

for your problem do the following:

1) set a VM code for the Group Mailbox
2) in the usere for each member of the group add the following to the Source Number Field :- H<GroupName>
