Hello.

My boss has recently started complaining that the Intuity mailbox on our IP Office/VM Pro doesn't seem to work the same as our old Definity Intuity/Audix.

On our old system, when he called in and LOGGED IN to his mailbox to retrieve messages, he could then 0-out to the receptionist or dial *8 and enter another extension to ring.

I understand the VM Pro Intuity mode is not a full Intuity, but was curious if anyone else has had this come up and/or if anyone knows a way to make something like this work.

Again, this is for when your logged into the mailbox...not leaving a message.

Thanks

I've cut and pasted this from the Intuity mailbox manual
If the system administrator has set up at least 1 voicemail transfer number, you can press *0 while you are
collecting messages and you will be transferred to a reception number.

Quite what a voicemail transfer number is, I am not sure, but I assume it is the 0 breakout option in manager... The voicemail pro help file backs up that assumption!

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Yes and no....I didn't know about the *0 option when collecting messages...that answers half my problem.

The other half is trying to find a way to call another extension from inside a users mailbox. On MOST other Avaya/Lucent voicemails, a user can dial *8 while retrieving their messages and be prompted to enter an extension number to call.

That is what my boss is looking for.

But thanks for the *0 tip Matt....6 years on IP Office and I'm still learning!

*8 works from your mailbox it even works while you are listening to a message left for you and believe me we are all still learning on the IP Office.
