Hi,
I am in the planning stages of an Novell Groupwise 5.5 to Exchange 2003 migration. According to the Exchange Migration Wizard documentation, during the migration "The Groupwise post office must not be accessed by Groupwise clients, administrator programs, or other agents or gateways" and that the "Groupwise Administrative Server (ADS), Message Transfer Agent (MTA) and Post Office Agent (POA) should be shut down".
Since we have over 800 Groupwise users in our environment we will be doing gradual migration of the mailboxes over a period of several weeks. What I am looking for is some suggestions on how to do the migrations with minimal impact to the users not being migrated. Do all the Groupwise services listed above need to be shut down? or can just the POA for the Post Office being migrated from be shut down?
One thought was to create several GW post offices and move the Groupwise users that will be migrated together into these PO's then if its possible to shut down an individual PO during the migration it wouldn't interupt the users in the other PO's.
Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill
