I'm running an Exchange 2000 SP3 server and just setup Mailbox Manager to delete the Deleted Items after 7 days. It appears that Mailbox Manager is running on the server because I get a message fro the System Attendant saying:
The Microsoft Exchange Server Mailbox Manager has completed processing mailboxes
Started at: 2004-04-14 01:52:38
Stopped at: 2004-04-14 02:08:31
Mailboxes processed: 396
Messages that would be moved or deleted: 7410
Size of messages that would be moved or deleted: 3971.12 MB
However I read this message as the user mailboxes really haven't been cleaned up at all. It looks to me as though this just tells me how much space would be gained if the e-mails were deleted.
Can anyone tell me how I can get this to actually run and delete the messages from the Deleted Items? I created a new policy with a priority of "1" for just the Mailbox Manager. The only other policy is the Default Policy and it's priority is set to "lowest".
Thanks for the help.
