I have been using Octel Mailbox Manger during our testing of the Octel 250 system without any problems. At that time, we had the default class of services and 8 users. Now, we have imported 40 users into the Octel system. When I try to retrieve the system info, I am failing trying to retrieve the mailboxes. I am running through a terminal server that is connected to the console of the Octel. Here is what happens.

what version Mailbox manager are you using ?

I think what the problem is that you have the connection set to use Telnet protocol in the set connection just uncheck it and it should work fine.

Let me know if that does not do it

I unchecked the use telnet protocol and got different results. I am using a cisco terminal server. I have tried using software flow control and no flow control. Software flow control seems to take longer to fail.

I have never used a Cisco terminal server on an octel but we have many that are using them with out any problem

what version is the MBM and the software of the OCtel

Ken Means

The errors are because the packets aren't in the right format 128k byte for xmodem. I have seen this before but only when using ProComm and a telnet server. It may be that the type of telnet server you are using does not support xmodem transfers ? don't know but the UDS 10 unit that we use works great on the Octel.

Ken Means

No luck yet. I have an open case with Cisco.

The Cisco terminal server is now working. I have to use ports in the 4000 range instead of the 2000 range.
