I can't get the mailbox key to work on a superset 4025 to notify that messages are on another extension on a 5010(x731). I setup a mailbox key for the 4025 and entered 731 for the extension. In form 50 I have mailbox 731 linked to x731. And left a message for x731 but the key does nothing on the 4025. I read back on a previous post about changing the cfa/na number to something but wasn't able to figure it out by that. I have 231 enabled.

I see you have 231 programed, I have used this feature but not with 231, I have used mw lamp 232 in cos of x731.
x731 must be programed in form 9 and cannot be a logical line.
I have used this option many times and it works well

no i don't have 232 enabled but the button doesn't do anything when i press it anyway. yes 731 is programmed and is a real phone but it is not connected at the moment does that matter? On my MOSS sheet it says I have feature level 6 but in the system options it says level 5 and won't let me change it. Should that matter?

yes it does matter, you are hooped, Mailbox key is dependant on feature level 6. You cannot change it as it is purchasable option. Releases are free for bugs etc but feature levels are not free. Always look in the pbx form 4 for what you have and do not always rely on paper.
Good luck.

You say your moss sheet says Feature Level 6 but the System options say Feature level 5? Have you tried re-keying in the MOC and Passcode in form 4? Was this an Upgrade from a ELX? I have never seen an ICP come with anything but Feature level 6

It does not matter that the phone is unplugged.

I do not believe the key will function unless there is message waiting indicator (I may be wrong on this)

feature level 5 was on the ICP with release 1. The gotch you with Message Key is the message waiting option in the cos of the extension you attach the Message Key to, that was not explained in the docs at first very well, I played with it to get it to work.

check the sysid on the MOSS sheet and see if it matches what is in form 4 option 101 of your ICP

Mitel messed up our order when we first got the system. No it was not upgraded it was new. It came with release 1 even though 2 was already out. Now I am stuck with level 5? Do you think they will fix this? I was wondering why none of my ONS phones msg light works. I thought it was because I didn't have opt 89 CLASS functionality. Should opt 89 come with my system if I ordered the hospitality package? And now I don't have a dealer within 200 miles and nobody wants to help me unless I pay them $500 for a trip charge plus the hourly rate.

option 89 has nothing to do with message waiting. CLASS enables the calling name and number to be delivered to an ONS type set. To go from feature level 5 to 6 is purchaseable. The hospitality option doesn't necessarily mean you get CLASS, option 89 costs $$$$$$$. Why none of your ONS set msg waiting lights don't work, assume nothing what cos and is option 232 enabled. To test call the extension from the console and press "send message"

I've already done all the trouble shooting for this and nothing works. I have all the correct cos defined. I really don't know why ons msg light doesn't work but do u think its related to the mailbox key not working? Or do u need level 6 for the msg waiting light to work too. How can I purchase level 6 if it says I have it on my MOSS sheet but if i try to type it in on form 4 if says password conflict.

message waiting not working has nothing to do with your feature level at 5 and mailbox key. Try adding option 219 to the cos of the sets, then send a message from the console and see if you get stutter dial tone when you first pick up the set after the message is sent. Does what is on the MOSS sheet and what is programed in the switch match for form 4 option 101???
