Mailbox in use

I am running fedora core 3 and i am running vm pop3d. i am having a problem with one email giving me an error.

mailbox is temporarily unavailable because another e-mail message is being delivered to it or another mail application is accessing it.

Can anyone give me some help? i tried search for a solution but i was unsuccessful

I think you have some kind of stale lock on your mailbox.
I believe vm pop3 does not necessarily uses the normal linux users' mailboxes
Have you tried to run

ls -l /var/spool/yourvirtualdomain/

or simply

ls -l /var/spool/mail

if you instead are using procmail mailboxes, and check whether you have a lock file for that user's mailbox?

If so, shutdown your pop3 daemon and manually delete the lockfile.
