Mailbox in use by another user

we have an ACS 6.0 with a Partner Mail VS 5.0.

One of the mailbox users says that when they login to there mailbox the voicemail says that this mailbox is in use by another user and cannot be accessed by two users at the same time. we know no-one else is logged into the mailbox.

what do we need to do?

Eh, just restart the system. Several ways to do:

Cycle the power off and back on.

From Ext 10, Feature 00, Left Intercom Twice, #728

Log into the System Administrator's mailbox - 989-RESET

Take your pick

Definetly scrambled brains in the system. I find myself giving the reset advice more & more these days.

Very curious, I rarely come across these problems. the biggest problem I come across is that the VMS stops working and a reseat is in order to bring it back up. Just wondering if theses problems are due to not defaulting or initializing the VMS's upon installation.

I have one customer that used to have a VS-R5, until they upgraded to Partner Messaging. For some reason, they regularly had mailboxes lock up, and needed resetting to get back in. I finally trained the receptionist how to do a reset from the system administrator's mailbox.
