Mail With Redhat

Dear All :
I need to send an email from my Linux Box using a remote SMTP Server ...
By Default the system is using its SMTO Server , but I need to change this behavior to use another Remote Server ..
Any Suggestions ?

First, change your signature to something far less annoying.

Second, configure the remote SMTP server to allow relaying from your server's IP. No authentication required.

The behavior I am seeing is really strange ,,
when I used the verbos mode mail -v
I can see that my mail client is trying to connect to its localhost 1st ( 127.0.0.1 ) then it goes to the remote SMTP Server ..
I need to start from the secind step and the client should 1st contact the Remote SMTP , and never to contact its local IP !

About my Signature , I will change it soon ..

To my knowledge, the 'mail' command only works on localhost/127.0.0.1 since it writes/reads directly from local files.

You need to use another POP3 or IMAP compliant mail client that can be configured to send via external host. Try "elm", "mutt", and GUI email in Mozilla, Netscape, Firefox.
