We have a Partner ACS R6 with a Mail VS R4 with a 2X20 card in the mail VS module. I installed a 4X40 card into the mail VS module to replace the 2X20 card and all hell broke loose. WHen calls come in they go straight to the receptionist now instead of ringing 4 times then hitting the AA. Then when you hang up the phone system then opens up 2 lines so that you have to hang up those 2 lines to get phone calls on them. Any Ideas?

Thanks.

Were the 2 extra voicemail ports added to Hunt group #7 [ponder]

I added them and still the same issue, i also took them away and still the same issue. The real problem is that when i tired to call those other ports they were busy.
44-47

If I understand correctly, you said that if you try to intercom the 2 additional ports, you reach a busy signal.

Can you list the modules in the system (from left to right)?

If you try to intercom any of the ports in Hunt Group #7, does the voicemail answer, or do you get a busy signal?

Slot 1: 308
Slot 2: 308
Slot 3: ACS 6
Slot 4: 206
Slot 5: Mail VS

From Left to Right

Yes, the VM ports were busy

the first 2 ports, 44,45 work (sometimes it takes 4 5 rings till the vms picks it up). But 46,47 are busy.

So... as a result when we put the phone system in night mode it takes 4 to rings to pickup where it used to pickup at 1/2 a ring. ARGH

Ok I fixed the problem right now.
I removed the 4x40 and put the 2x20 ack in for now.
i added 44,45 extensions to the AA extension. And it worked. I cant add the 4x40 because 2 of the ports still rang busy and created general havoc.

Hmm....

The last module before the PMVS is a 2x6. My math may be off, but shouldn't ports 42-45 be in Hunt Group #7? [ponder]
