when I attempt to enable outcalling for a mailbox thru the system administrator menu I get a long silent pause and then "Good Bye." I just replaced the module but am still using the same 4-port pc card, outdialing worked before the module was replaced and I haven't changed any system programming. What am I missing?

Just a bad module, replaced it and everything is fine. If anyone cares

3 bad modules. The first one died as a result of a thunderstorm, the first replacement had a 30 second lag time between vm prompts, the second replacement didn't have the lag time between promts and let me enable outcalling but any greetings and A.A.'s I recorded played back as dead air. The handset was fine and when I reviewed and accepted the recordings they played back normally, but when you called into the A.A. or mailboxes no dice. Just a few seconds of silence and then the time-out kicked in. Messages left in the mailboxes from outside registered as new and had the time and date stamp but no audio. Picked up a fourth module from a different supplier today, did a restore and everything works fine. Needless to say someone lost all of my future business.

Ouch!

Given that the Partner Mail VS has been out of production for quite a while, the next time the voicemail needs to be replaced, a brand spanking new Avaya Partner Messaging might be worth a look. [smile]
