We have a 4 port card option mer mail on an option 11. We inherited the system years back and it was originally maintained by Bell Canada. Until recently the system has had very little done to but over time I have had reports of staff reporting that messages customers sent weren't being delivered to their mailbox. I usually attributed this to customer error but as result of a power outage and problems gettting mer mail back up I have started to dig in to various areas and I have been enjoying myself learning and have many thanks to offer those on this forum. In fact I now have an 11c (courtesy of eBay that I am also having fun with and will deploy one day. Back to my question. In looking I see the following items:
in MerMail NVP
Prim DN Chann DN TN
7000 7800 8-0-2-0
7000 7801 8-0-2-8
7000 7802 8-0-2-1
7000 7803 8-0-2-9
I assume that the 8-0-2 map into TN 10 where the mail card is.
Now for DNs 7800 to 7803 I see configured as type SL1 on TNs 10 0, 10 8, 10 1, and 10 9 respectively. Looks good I think. However there are also TNs 10 2 and 10 10 defined the same way and for DN 7000 I see it as type MCDN with MCIDs 7830 to 7835 tied into TNs 10 0, 10 8, ... including TNs 10 2 and 10 10. Also the 7830 to 7835 DNs are defined as ACIDs tying into the same TNs.
It seems to me that having these additional TNs for Voice Ports that don't exist is bad. Am I correct? Would this possibly account for missing voice mail messages when the load is high enough?
Thanks in advance for any information.
