Mail to AOL domain blocked - Groupwise 5.5 2

Hi

All of a sudden all outgoing E mails to anybody with an AOL domain address are being returned as undeliverable.


Are there any settings that I should check out in GWIA that could trigger a block by AOL?

All mail in coming in OK including mail from AOL. We just can't send out to AOL. Sending out to anyone else is OK.

Most likely this is a problem with your Domains MX record.

If you look at your Domains MX record... and do a reverse lookup on the IP address your GWIA is on, it probably either doesn't resolve anything or it comes back incorrect.

Marvin's right on (as usual!). AOL implemented a new policy about a month back and will not accept any email from domains who don't have their ptr record configured correctly. To verify this, just telnet 25 to one of their mail exchangers. The policy is in the error message you'll receive.
