Hi,

I have a client that has been using Exchange Server 5.5 for a long time with little or no problems.

Recently when any user sends mail it just sits in the Outbox of Outlook and wont send until the Exchange services are re-started.

Anyone have any ideas as to what could cause this?

Thanks in advance.

is the user a mobile user, who was working "off line" when creating the email, if so the ost file may not have synced with the server, if so, get the user to into outlook on line, then go off line, and then back on again, this should re sync the ost file to the server

Thanks for the response.

They have no mobile users, and all users are working on line. It just seems strange that it could just start happening without any changes being made to the server or the clients.

I would guess you have stopped and restarted the IMS service. Can specify as parameters for the service to do that upon hanging. Doesn't explain the problem, but may keep you up.
