HELP!!! I got this new machine about a month ago and it is problems problems problems. I unfortunatley have a brand new Vista operating system and I am using office 2003.

My outlook works fine one day, the next, not so well. Today's problem is sending email. It is stuck in the outbox. I have restarted, I have turned it off, i have checked add in's, etc. I can get one or two emails out with each restart but I still have 10 emails in there. None of the emails are big files, nothing even half a meg. Any idea's?

Thanks for your help
Sandra

Does your antivirus software do outgoing scanning? Is the mail server operating at full capacity?

If it works one day and not the next, the fault is unlikely to be with your email client (as long as no one has altered anything). Profile corruptions are rare.

Most likely the fault lies with either your firewall blocking the SMTP port or your email host not being able to process at that point in time.

If it is the host's side you would normally get an error message but in Outlook these are often reduced to the bottom right corner and missed by most users. Firewall faults will cause the email to sit there without moving and with no error message.
