Mail Slot on Exabyte 221L

We have an Exabyte 221L LTO Tape Library that we are using with the Windows Brightstor 9 software. I am having problems with the mail slot on that device in conjunction with Brightstor. I can insert a tape into the mail slot and do an import just fine, but I cannot export a tape once it is in the library (or drive). I think it may be a software incompatability with the exabyte drive. Has anyone else had this same problem? Does anyone know of any available documentation for the mail slot(CA's site doesn't give me crap!)? Thanks!
 
The mail slot (import/export functionality) should just work fine, there is nothing to cofigure about that within ARCserve.
Did you check the firmware ( supported firmware is 22uO for the drive and 2.8.4 for the library )and did you install latest patches for ARCserver 9 ( build 2030 is the latest ) and also the latest device fixes ??

Saw someone else with this problem but an earlier version of ARCserve.

Try this:
From the front panel on the tape unit:
1 - Press the Menu button
2 - Press the up arrow until you get to the option "Lock/Unlock Entry/Exit Port"
3 - Press the enter key. (You will hear the slot click)
4 - Issue the Export command from within BAB.

If this works open a support issue with CA or look for the next update to the Tape Engine because I think it is being fixed.

The firmware should be those mentioned or later, but it is not necessary to have those specific versions as long as it is newer.
