Hey does anyone know how to set up a mail server on mandrake 10.0?

Yeah, do you? Seriously, have you googled for anything? There are scads of documents on the 'net.

Which MTA do you want to use? How do you want to access the email? POP3, IMAP? Do you want anti-virus, anti-spam? Do you want users to self-admin through a web interface? Need webmail?

How about stating a few requirements?

yeah i need

1. pop3
2. antivirus, anti-spam,
3. webmail
4. self admin through web interface

how do i start??

I would also look at . This is a web based admin tool to setup all kinds of services, email server being one of them. There is also an add-on called usermin there will be a link for that allows the user a web based email program.
Webmin will run on just about any version of linux.

Im a bit of a newbie myself so cant help much
sendmail or postfix cn handle outboud mail (smtp)
imap can handle POP access to mailboxess

I suspect that this Q would be better answered in the Linux(server) forum

My system is running postfix & Imap as a pop3 sever on fedora 1 as supplied with redhat linux Bible

I would like to give more info but as I am still learning I do not want to send you off in the wrong direction
