Does anyone have any suggestions about Mail servers. I'm using fedora core 4. Using sendmail with dovecot is becoming a nightmare. Mainly because I have never setup a mail server before. So if anyone has a thought on which software i should use for a mail server would be very helpful.

Which part of sendmail+dovecot is a nightmare? I got a postfix+spamassassin+dovecot+squirrelmail box setup in a week with a lot of reading. It's purring away nicely on my dual PII-350MHz server.

There's a sendmail forum here at tek-tips. It shouldn't take more than a few minutes to set up a mail server. What's giving you fits?

I recommend to use Postfix instead of sendmail. Quite simple to configure and lots of how-tos in the web.

Cheers.

We really shouldn't start this, but let me quickly throw qmail into the mix as well - thedaver will come along shortly with "The Link" no doubt.
