I've been working on this mail problem for days already but haven't able to find the problem. So please help me out someone. This is my learning process.

My server named Server is behind a Netgear router and its IP is 192.168.1.5/24 and default gateway and dns is 192.168.1.1

In the Netgear router I've port mapped ports 25 and 110 to the Server's ip above already.

My internet static IP is mapped to my domain on godaddy already and I have already created an MX record on godaddy to point to my internet static IP. However, when I try to send mail to my domain using yahoo or hotmail, the mail seemed to go out but I never received it on my domain end. Also when I try to send a mail to yahoo or hotmail it also seemed to go out but neither does yahoo or hotmail received it.

I've tried to use both MS POP3 & SMTP Service as well as Kerio MailServer 6 and have open relay on both softwares to see if they work but it didn't seem to work.

Also, when I tried to ping my domain name from within my server command prompt, I got no reply.

Could someone please help or show me a tutorial that I can follow. I've tried several tutorial online but they didn't seem to work.

Thanks!

Hi Dynaken

Postfix default config will see senders domains
and destination domains (probing if exist)

so

You can add on Your Netgear router mapping
of TCP 53 and UDP 53 port (DNS service) from Your RealIP to inside 192.168.1.5 (Server)

Or see if 192.168.1.5 can access to this servieces.

I think 192.168.1.1 is only an Netgear Router.
or DNS too???

I think that is your problem

Best Regards
George
