Mail server can't send to a specific domain

Set up = Standalone Exchange 2007 SP3 - MS Windows 2008 R2. No edge server.

My mail server will not send to a specific domain. It’s working fine for all other domains. The problem domain is receiving ok from others and is not blacklisted. When I send an e-mail from my Hotmail to it, it also works fine. It rejects any variation on the domain also. For example a different user within that domain.

I can ping the domain in question and successfully do a trace route to it.

Can anyone help as to what else I could try?

What's the message tracking say? What happens if you try to telnet to it from the Exchange server and send a test message? See
