I work for a small charity.
At the moment, in the office, we have 6 staff on a small office network and we have one mail addy info@****.org (our website domain name)which is downloaded to one PC; but with 6 people in the office, having to crowd round someone's PC to read our mail is a bit of a pain for us.

Is there any way we could make everyone have dif addresses, and have them delivered to our own PCs? I was thinking like steve@****.org, sally@****.org ... and so on

Free would be nice (isn't it always?), as we have to request for money for everything.

Thank you

Moe: It could have been a real ugly situation, but luckily I managed to shoot him in the spine.

contact your isp and ask them how many email accounts you have with your domain.

if you only have the one then ask about email alias'. if they allow that then set up a rule in outlook to forward the emails to each alias mailbox.

Even with one email address you don't have to "crowd round" one machine. Each computer can access the same account in the same way the existing computer does.

[cheers] & all the best.

Yes but we need to keep all the mails in one place (backup etc), as a lot of the mails are to do with funding, meetings etc.
If someone downloads an important email to their workstation, and then doesn't come in the next day we will not see/know about it.

Yes you will ... all users download the same emails ... it's the outgoing ones from different machines (if not CC'd) that could slip through the backups.

I.. don't think so.
Eg: with 2 pcs, whichever one downloads a particular mail, whenever the other one checks for mail to download that particular mail won't be downloaded.

I've tried it. I then had to transfer the mails one at a time to the other machine.

If the isp didn't register a receiving of a mail, you would end up getting every mail from day one everytime you checked for mail, surely.

CorBlimeyLimey is correct if you adjust 1 setting that hasn't been mentioned. On the advanced tab of the account properties, you will find leave a copy on the server. Just make sure that at least one machine is set to take them off after a few days, otherwise they'll never get removed and you will reach your capacity limit.

Thanks Smah for clearing that up!

Still, I think I will try and setup some aliases for the staff.
