After installing Interscan (version 3.52 NT) CVP with FW-1 (NG FP3), the SMTP server fail the abuse.net mail relay test and seem to be open for relay, even though it is not. How can this be fixed?
i would look at your mail surver first but a simple addition to the firewall is
use 2 resources for smtp. one for inbound and one for outbound.
for inbound
in the smtp resource in the "match" section set sender as * and recepient as *@yourdomain.com
for the outbound
set match to * for recepient and *@yourdomain.com
we also add another rule
on inbound blocks all incoming mail from *@yourdoamin.com
some spoofs and some viruses have a tendancy to try and send mail using domain to you (mail from your domain should never originate outside your network)
