When I typr ax 8 on one of my switches to get into mail this happens:

And it does nothing and all i can do is go back to sl1, anyone have any ideas of wht the problem may be.
 
What emulation are you using? Try wyse 75 I have good luck with it.
 
I am just using Hyper Terminal but I have no problems with any other switch.
 
I think you have to use another terminal-emulator Like procomm or something.

You also has to be able to change the keyboard setup to make it work.
Otherwise you cant use the keys on the screen as it is intended to work.

We are using Procomm all the time, it works very well..
 
Problem may also be the bit/parity

for mail you need 8/n/1
 
Usually, your settings need to emulate vt100 for an option 11C. You can use vt320 but the soft keys on the screen will emulate f6 through f10. With vt100, the soft keys will be f1 through f5.
