Mail over WinRoute

Im using Winroute 4.1.25 as my proxy software running on Win2000 Server connected to the internet via DSL.
My question is:
1. how do i download mail from my isp's smtp & pop(mozcom.com) server using e.g. outlook express?
2. what settings should i change or enable in my winroute software & outlook express?
i get this error:
The host 'mozcom.com' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'mozcom.com', Server: 'mozcom.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

should it not be something like mail.mozcom.com or pop.mozcom.com? You could also ping the popserver and enter the IP address you get from that, directly in your mail client.

thanks for ur reply pmf71. it used to be mail.mozcom.com but it was changed to mozcom.com. i could actually downloads mails if i connect directly to my isp dial-up or dsl. i get errors if download from my workstation via my proxy server using winroute. could be the settings on my proxy side but i dont know which. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

have you restricted all access except http (port 80)? POP mail uses port 110 for data transfer. If you have resticted all outgoing IP traffic except port 80, then pop, imap or smtp mail transfer will never work, because it is blocked by winroute.

Why not use the mail server in Winroute to download your POP3 mail then connect to that.
