Mail not working

AIX user login 'jseva' trying to send an email message generates this error:

$ mail vgalbiso@symitar.com
Subject: Test email
This is only a test. Please disregard.
.
Cc:
$ vgalbiso@symitar.com... User unknown
/home/jseva/dead.letter... Saved message in /home/jseva/dead.letter

Any tips?

It doesnt sound like you have mail set up......who is doing your name resolution?
the ISP? DNS? Is Simitar listed anywhere? AS in host file, or DNS, or outside world......can you resolve the address you are sending to?
.......is there a route to it if it is another network? or is that the name of the local box? It it is is that name listed in /etc/hosts and also hostname?

It will go to dead letter if it does not know where or how to send it.
