Hi,
I have just installed a 2nd exchange server 2003 SP2 into my domain and i cannot receive any mail except from other mailboxes that reside on this server. I have no problem mailing to accounts external to this server just receiving.

When I look at the queues the outbound queue from the original exchange server to the new server is backed up and is saying "The connection was dropped by the remote host."

When I test SMTP using telnet <new server> 25 no connection is made.
I have disabled the anti virus on this server and still no luck.

Any ideas???

Did you install it into the same organisation?

Look at the connectors on each, are they set up and do they use anonymous or integrated authentication?

I managed to resolve this by adding the exchange servers to eachothers connection control under the SMTP virtual server.

The mail queues then began to flow as expected.

Cheers,
RedMoo
