Hi

I know how to create a query which can be used for mail merges but like anything, some situations are unique. I need to set it up so that the mailing label can say either:

"Parent/Carer of John and Jane Doe" or
"Parent/Carer of James Wilson" or
"Parent/Carer of Fred Dawson and Jim Jackson"

The above descriptions cover all different variathions. All children are linked to their families by FCID, the data looks like

FCID Surname Forename Addressline1
2 John Doe 1 North Street
2 Jane Doe 1 North Street
3 James Wilson 46 East Avenue
4 Fred Dawson 77 South Drive
4 Jim Jackson 77 South Drive

Is this impossible, i've done this in the past by copying the query to excel and manually creating the "Parent/Carer ....."

Michael

There is a FAQ with an example for different columns but you should be able to modify for your purposes...
