Mail merge labels into document

I have a word file that has labels to be printed on avery type address labels. 3 columns 8 row type.

I would like to be able to mail merge these into another word document.

Is this possible? I have tried to set it up with mail merge but it is reading the first row as a header and not using each block as the address.

Any ideas?

Use the same SOURCE data file in the new document for the MailMerge.

If you already know how to do mail merges from excel...
I would open the word file with the address labels in it, copy everything, and paste it into excel.
Then, arrange the data to be useful.
Let us know if that will work for you or not.

There was not a "Source" for the labels. The person hand entered them all.

Gruuuu,
I was looking for a method without having to retype all of it.
There is only 95 labels. So it will not take a very long time I was just looking for a quicker method.

Hi ck1999,

I think Gruuuu is indicating that you should recreate the source ( and not retype it all ), by pasteing into Excel, and shifting things until they make a source list. Then use that as your source to mail merge into the other Word document.

That is what I ended up doing When copying into excel it still put the address in 3 rows followed by a blank row.
So I copied it then ran a short VBA program to move it into columned data.
