Hi there,

I've developed an access database that manages our business clients and all the information. I've programmed it to do nifty things like link data into a word file and pass in client information.

I would like to program into access the ability to generate e-mails and attach client invoices. Here are the goals of my enhancements.

-Be able to convert invoice to pdf and attach as an email.
-be able to include a message in the email.

What are the first steps that I should take in tackling this?

Each month we sent out many invoices so it would be nice to cut down on the paper, labels, stamps etc...

thanks

for clarification, what I envision is to be able to click a button and all the invoices are automatically emailed to those who want them. Probably easier said than done.

I wish there was a way to edit my previous posts. I wanted to add that currently my invoice report creates an invoice for each client all at once. This way I can print them out at the same time.

If I wanted to convert the client invoices into pdf's how would I go about that?

thank you

I use the dll from
in the invoice database I've attached the invoice is attached to an outlook email as a pdf.

The pdf is automatically named for attaching

the link is to an exe file which will self extract to the folder C:\InvoiceSample from where you can open up InvoiceSample.mdb

Hope this helps

Jimmy

Thanks. I downloaded it, but I can't see the code in the invoice.mdb. When I click on the email button and run it, it says path not found.

I didn't realize that I had to extract it to the same folder. The save as pdf works, but send as email doesn't do anything. It flashes quickly creating an snp file but that's about it.

Have a look at the doCmd.SendObject method.

Hope This Helps, PH.

Thanks for that tip. I think I should be able to piece together the puzzle.
