I have always used the mail merge to create things like contracts by importing data from an Access data base using the 'Merge to New Document' feature. I now have Office 2010 and I can't find the feature. Did they take this capability away or am I not looking in the right place?

Do you have a Mailings Tab in your Ribbon?

and....

have you 'dug' into that tab?

have you checked Word HELP?

Hi,
It's the last button on the Mailings Tab called Finish & Merge. Click the drop down and select Edit document.

BH,

As you no doubt have noticed, I often use the Socratic Method. ;-)

I see the Finish and Merge feature, but it's disabled and I can't figure out why. The document I have is read-only, but that's how it's always been and I could still merge to a new document. Is there another reason it might be disabled?

(While I appreciate the socratic approach in some cases, in the interest of getting my job done I actually prefer the direct approach in cases such as this.)

Thank you.

If you already have a link to a MergeList, the Finish icon should be active.

Otherwise you must start in the Start Mail Merge GROUP, to set up your merge document.

The Finish and Merge Icon decided to become active again, but the only items in the drop-down are:
Edit Individual Documents
Print Document
Send Email Messages

No Merge to New document.
I tried to find it in the customize ribbon list but no luck.

Hi bhujanga,

Merge to New document = Edit Individual Documents
