Mail Merge does not format Zip Code correctly

When using the Mail Merge Wizard from within Word 2002 with an Access 2002 database address list, the zip code is not formated correctly. Specifically, it does not contain the "-" character, which prevents it from printing the Postnet barcode on my labels. What am I doing wrong? Thank you in advance for any help.

If you have a query, include the column expression "NewZip" (or similar), and put:

=format([ZipCode],"00000-0000&quot

I'm pretty sure that is the syntax; you'll probably know better than I. You can get the exact format from your table design. Ah, the trials of being a troubleshooter instead of a user. I know too much hard stuff and not the easy stuff.
